Application of Serum IL-8,ESM-1 and VAP-1 in Clinical Diagnosis and Disease Assessment of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease
Objective To investigate the expression levels of serum interleukin-8(IL-8),endothelial specific molecule-1(ESM-1)and vascular adhesion protein-1(VAP-1)in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD),and to analyze their correlation with the degree of disease and their diagnostic value for COPD.Methods One hundred and fifty-three COPD patients admitted to the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University from November 2021 to August 2022 were selected for the study, including 42 cases in the stable phase of COPD(set as SCOPD group)and 111 cases in the acute exacerbation phase of COPD(set as AECOPD group),while 51 healthy volunteers who were examined at the hospital during the same period were selected as the control group. The clinical data and serum IL-8,ESM-1 and VAP-1 levels of each group were compared.Serum IL-8,ESM-1,and VAP-1 levels were compared in patients with different degrees of disease. The correlation between serum indices and pulmonary function, biochemical indices, and the degree of disease were analyzed. The diagnostic value of serum indicators for SCOPD and AECOPD were evaluated. Results Serum IL-8,ESM-1,and VAP-1 levels were higher in the AECOPD and SCOPD groups than those in the control group, and higher in the AECOPD group than that in the SCOPD group(P<0.05).IL-8,ESM-1,and VAP-1 were positively correlated with biochemical indexes,COPD assessment test scale(CAT)and degree of disease, and negatively correlated with pulmonary function(P<0.05).The area under the curve(AUC)of the combined diagnosis of SCOPD and AECOPD with the serum indicators was greater than that of the individual indicators(P<0.05).Conclusion Serum IL-8,ESM-1 and VAP-1 are correlated with the severity of COPD,and their combined levels have some diagnostic value for COPD,and may be used as important indicators for disease diagnosis and disease assessment.
