Correlation Between Serum IL-2,sST2 Expression and Immunosuppressive Agent Response in Idiopathic Membranous Nephropathy
Objective To investigate the relationship between the levels of serum interleukin-2(IL-2),soluble growth stimulating expression gene 2 protein(sST2)and the responsiveness to immunosuppressive agent therapy in patients with idiopathic membranous nephropathy. Methods A total of 135 patients with idiopathic membranous nephropathy who received immunosuppressive agent treatment in hospital from January 2020 to October 2022 were selected.Serum IL-2 and sST2 were measured at admission, and 24 hours urine protein quantitation was measured after treatment.According to the treatment reactivity of patients, they were divided into remission group and non-remission group. The general information of the two groups of patients and the serum levels of IL-2 and sST2 at admission were compared, and the relationship between the serum levels of IL-2 and sST2 and the treatment responsiveness of idiopathic membranous nephropathy immunosuppressive agent was analyzed by point binary correlation. The receiver operating characteristic curve of the subjects was drawn to evaluate the value of serum IL-2 and sST2 levels in predicting the treatment responsiveness of idiopathic membranous nephropathy immunosuppressive agent. Results A total of 132 of 135 patients with idiopathic membranous nephropathy completed regular treatment. After 6 months of immunosuppressive agent treatment,101 patients were included in the remission group, and the rest 31 patients were included in the non-remission group. The age, renal function grading at admission, disease staging, serum IL-2,and sST2 levels in the non-remission group were all higher than those in the remission group, with statistical significant differences(P<0.05).Point binary correlation analysis showed that serum IL-2 and sST2 levels were positively correlated with the risk of adverse reaction to immunosuppressive agent treatment of idiopathic membranous nephropathy(r1=0.428,P,<0.001;r2=0.344,P2<0.001).The receiver operating characteristic was drawn, and the results showed that the area under the curve of serum IL-2 and sST2 to predict the poor response to immunosuppressive agent treatment of idiopathic membranous nephropathy was greater than 0.7,which had a certain predictive value, and the joint predictive value was higher. Conclusion The expression levels of IL-2 and sST2 in serum are closely related to the treatment responsiveness of immunosuppressive agent in patients with idiopathic membranous nephropathy. The higher the expression level of IL-2 and sST2,the worse the treatment responsiveness. The combined detection can be used as a sensitive index to predict the treatment responsiveness of immunosuppressive agent in patients with idiopathic membranous nephropathy.
