Effect of Letrozole Assisted Ovulation Induction Therapy and Clomiphene Citrate in the Treatment of Polycystic Ovary Syndrome
Objective To compare the effect of letrozole assisted ovulation induction therapy and clomiphene citrate in the treatment of polycystic ovary syndrome(PCOS).Methods A total of 96 PCOS patients who were treated in Zhumadian Central Hospital from October 2019 to October 2022 were selected.They were divided into two groups according to the random number table method,the control group(48 cases)and the research group(48 cases).The control group received clomiphene citrate assisted ovulation induction therapy,while the research group received letrozole assisted ovulation induction therapy on the basis of the control group.The levels of sex hormones,endometrial thickness,maximum follicle diameter,ovulation induction,complications and pregnancy were compared between the two groups before and after treatment.Results After treatment,the levels of estrogen(E2),luteinizing hormone(LH),testosterone(T),follicle-stimulating hormone(FSH)in the two groups were all higher than before treatment,and the E2 in the study group was lower than that in the control group(P<0.05),while the FSH and LH in the study group were higher than that in the control group(P<0.05),and the T levels in the two groups with no statistically difference(P>0.05).After treatment,the endometrial thickness and the maximum follicular diameter in both groups were higher than before treatment(P<0.05),and the study group was higher than the control group(P<0.05).Compared with the control group,the incidence of follicles,multiple follicles,clinical pregnancy,multiple pregnancies and abortion in the study group was not statistically significant(P>0.05).The incidence of single follicle in the study group was higher(P<0.05),and the incidence of bubble-like unruptured flavinization syndrome(LUF),ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome(OHSS)in the study group was lower(P<0.05).Conclusion Auxiliary ovulation induction therapy with letrozole has a better therapeutic effect in PCOS patients,which can regulate sex hormone levels,improve endometrial thickness and follicular development,increase follicular development,and reduce the incidence of OHSS and LUF.
