Mediating Effect of Self-identity on Self-acceptance and Subjective Well-Being in Patients Undergoing Chemotherapy After Radical Mastectomy
Objective To investigate the mediating effect of self-identity on self-acceptance and subjective well-being in patients with chemotherapy after radical mastectomy. Methods A total of 110 patients with chemotherapy after radical mastectomy in Henan Cancer Hospital from December 2021 to December 2022 were investigated by general data questionnaire, general well-being scale(GWBS),self-acceptance questionnaire(SAQ)and self-identity scale(SIS).Pearson and structural equation model were used to analyze the relationship among self-acceptance,self-identity and subjective well-being.Results A total of 105 patients completed the study, the total GWBS score was(60.62±4.51),the total SAQ score was(40.42±4.41),and the total SIS score was(56.51±4.22).Pearson correlation analysis showed that self-acceptance was positively correlated with subjective well-being and self-identity(r1=0.622,r2=0.668,P<0.05),and subjective well-being was positively correlated with self-identity(r=0.701,P<0.05)in chemotherapy patients after radical mastectomy.Bootstrap test showed that self-acceptance had a positive effect on subjective well-being(95%CI:0.128-0.362),and could also have a positive effect indirectly through the mediating effect of self-identity(95%CI:0.320-0.656),and the mediating effect accounted for 74.22%(0.501/0.675)of the total effect. Conclusion The subjective well-being of patients with chemotherapy after radical mastectomy is at a moderate level. The degree of self-acceptance has a direct effect on the subjective well-being,and can also be influenced by the mediating effect of self-identity.
