Current Status and Influencing Factors of Knowledge,Beliefs and Practices Regarding Protective Measures for Traumatic Hypothermia Among Emergency Nurses in Henan Province
Objective To understand the current status of knowledge,beliefs and practices regarding protective measures for traumatic hypothermia among emergency nurses and analyze the influencing factors.Methods A convenience sampling method was used to survey 654 emergency department nurses from 34 hospitals in Henan Province using a self-designed questionnaire on knowledge,beliefs and practices related to traumatic hypothermia protection.Results The scores for the overall questionnaire,knowledge dimension,belief dimension and behavior dimension of protective measures for traumatic hypothermia among emergency nurses were(57.37±11.43),(7.53±2.04),(35.30±7.69),and(19.16±6.38)points,respectively.The results of multiple linear regression analysis showed that the nurses'years of experience,the level of importance given to hypothermia by the hospital,the presence of rewarming measures in the department and the establishment of rewarming protocols in the department were influencing factors for the knowledge,beliefs and practices of emergency nurses regarding protective measures for traumatic hypothermia.Conclusion The knowledge,beliefs and practices of emergency nurses in Henan Province regarding protective measures for traumatic hypothermia need to be improved.Managers should focus on strengthening training related to traumatic hypothermia,establishing standardized protocols,changing the nursing behaviors towards traumatic hypothermia patients,further reinforcing their beliefs,and enhancing the knowledge,beliefs and practices of emergency nurses in the care of traumatic hypothermia.
