Effect of Health Education Based on Health Quotient Concept on Self-Care Ability,Lung Function and Quality of Life of Elderly Patients With Community-Acquired Pneumonia
Objective To explore the effects of health education based on the concept of health quotient on self-care ability, lung function and quality of life in elderly patients with community-acquired pneumonia(CAP).Methods A total of 102 elderly patients with CAP in the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University from June 2021 to April 2022 were selected and divided into 2 groups with 51 cases in each group by random number table method. The control group received routine nursing, and the observation group received health education based on the concept of health quotient. The changes in lung function[forced expiratory volume in one second(FEV1),forced expiratory volume in one second to forced vital capacity(FEV1/FVC),and forced vital capacity(FVC)]and health literacy levels,as well as self-care ability[exercise of self-care agency scale(ESCA)]and the recurrence of CAP after 1-year follow-up in both intervention groups were observed. Results After intervention,FEV1/FVC,FEV,,FVC in the observation group were higher than those in the control group(P<0.05).After intervention, the scores of mental state, life skills, health knowledge,self-care and lifestyle in the observation group were higher than those in the control group(P<0.05).After intervention, the scores of self-concept,health knowledge,self-responsibility and self-care skill in the observation group were higher than those in the control group(P<0.05).The recurrence rate of CAP in the observation group was lower than that in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion The application of health education based on the concept of health quotient in elderly patients with CAP can effectively improve the level of health quotient, enhance the ability of self-care,thereby improving lung function.
