Mediating Role of Work-Related Motivation in the Relationship Between Junior Nurses'Psychological Contract and Adversity Quotient
Objective To explore the influence of psychological contract and work-related motivation of junior nurses on their adversity quotient and to clarify the model of the relationship between the three indexes.Methods Using a convenience sampling method,the general information questionnaire,psychological contract scale,nurse adversity quotient self-evaluation scale and work-related motivation questionnaire were administered to 226 new nurses in 2 tertiary hospitals in Zhengzhou,Henan Province from June to August 2022.Results The total adversity quotient score of low seniority nurses was(133.27±39.35).The results of Pearson correlation analysis showed that work motivation was positively correlated with psychological contract(r=0.618,P<0.001),work motivation was negatively correlated with adversity quotient(r=-0.575,P<0.001),and psychological contract was negatively correlated with adversity quotient(r=-0.529,P<0.001).Low seniority nurses'work motivation partially mediated the relationship between psychological contract and adversity quotient,with a mediating effect value of 46.91%of the total effect.Conclusion Junior nurses'adversity quotient is in the middle level.Nurse managers can increase motivation by taking effective measures to construct and maintain the psychological contract of junior nurses in order to improve their level of adversity quotient.
