Status Quo and Influence Factors of Death Attitude in the Nursing Students
Objective To investigate the status quo of death attitude among nursing students before clinical practice and analyze its influencing factors,so as to provide reference for clinical death education and training.Methods In June 2022,totally 408 nursing students from 11 colleges or universities in Henan Province who were about to enter the clinical practice stage in a tertiary hospital in Zhengzhou city were selected by convenience sampling method.The general information questionnaire and the Chinese version of death attitude description scale were used to investigate and analyze the influencing factors.Results The score of 408 nursing students'attitude towards death was(89.73±18.74)points.The scores of each dimension of the scale were natural acceptance,death escape,death fear,approach acceptance,escape acceptance.The results of univariate analysis showed that their religious belief,self perceived physical condition,self perceived psychological condition,talking about the situation of death at home and taking care of the dying/critically ill were the influencing factors of death attitude of nursing students before entering clinical practice(P<0.05).The results of multiple linear regression analysis showed that the influencing factors of death attitude of nursing students included religious belief,self-conscious physical condition and the situation of talking about death at home(P<0.05),which could explain 14.8%of the total variation.Conclusion In the process of clinical teaching,nursing administrators and clinical teachers should pay attention to the attitude of nursing students towards death,formulate personalized death education and training,construct the curriculum system of death education for nursing students and cultivate the correct concept of life and death of nursing students.
