Effect of Pingxiao Capsule Combined with Levothyroxine Sodium in the Treatment of Nodular Goiter
Objective To analyze the effect of pingxiao capsule combined with levothyroxine sodium in the treatment of nodular goiter.Methods From March 2020 to September 2022,92 patients with nodular goiter were collected in Nanyang Central Hospital for the study.According to the random number table method,they were divided into the combined group(46 cases)and the single group(46 cases).The single group was treated with levothyroxine sodium,and the combined group was added Pingxiao capsule.The two groups of curative effect was compared.The two groups before and after treatment with thyroid hormone levels[free triiodothyronine(FT3)and free thyroxine(FT4),thyroid stimulating hormone(TSH)],nodal diameter and vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF)level,transforming growth factor β,level(TGF-β 1),interleukin 1 β(IL-1 β)levels,white interleukin-6(IL-6)levels were compared.The two groups of the incidence of adverse reactions were compared.Results The total effective rate of the combined group[95.65％(44/46)]was higher than that of the single group[80.43％(37/46)](P＜0.05).Compared with before treatment,FT3 and FT4 were increased,and TSH was decreased in the two groups after treatment(P＜0.05).Compared with the single group after treatment,FT3 and FT4 in the combined group were higher,and TSH was lower(P＜0.05).Compared before treatment,the maximum diameter of nodules was shortened after treatment in the two groups(P＜0.05).Compared with the single group after treatment,the maximum diameter of nodules in the combined group was shorter(P＜0.05).Compared with before treatment,VEGF was decreased and TGF-β1 was increased in the two groups after treatment(P＜0.05).Compared with the single group after treatment,the VEGF level in the combined group was lower and the TGF-β1 level was higher(P＜0.05).Compared with before treatment,the levels of IL-1β and IL-6 in the two groups were increased after treatment(P＜0.05).Compared with the single group after treatment,the levels of IL-1β and IL-6 in the combined group were higher(P＜0.05).There was no statistically significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the combined group[6.52％(3/46)]and the single group[4.35％(2/46)](P＞0.05).Conclusion Pingxiao capsule combined with levothyroxine sodium has a definite effect in the treatment of nodular goiter,can regulate VEGF and TGF-β1,shrink nodules,improve thyroid function,and has good safety.
