Relationship Between Blood Lipid,Body Mass Index and Sexual Dysfunction in Male Patients with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus
Objective To explore the relationship between blood lipid, body mass index(BMI)and sexual dysfunction in male patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. Methods A total of 252 male patients with type 2 diabetes were selected from Nanyang Central Hospital from June 2020 to June 2023.Clinical data of the patients were collected, the levels of lipids and BMI of the patients at admission were detected, and the incidence of sexual dysfunction of the patients was recorded according to the results of medical records review. The influencing factors of sexual dysfunction in male patients with type 2 diabetes were screened, and the predictive value of lipid-related indexes and BMI for sexual dysfunction in male patients with type 2 diabetes was evaluated. Results By the end of follow-up,11 cases of 252 patients were lost to follow-up,and the effective follow-up rate was 95.63%.Among the remaining 241 patients,163 were diagnosed with sexual dysfunction(67.63%).The proportion of hypertension, depression score,BMI,total cholesterol(TC),triglycerides(TG)and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL-C)in sexual dysfunction group were higher than those in normal sexual function group(P<0.05),and testosterone was lower than that in normal sexual function group(P<0.05).Logistic analysis showed that combined hypertension, depression degree score,BMI,TC,TG and LDL-C were risk factors for sexual dysfunction in male type 2 diabetes patients(P<0.05),and testosterone was protective factor for sexual dysfunction in male type 2 diabetes patients(P<0.05).Receiver operating characteristic curve analysis showed that the area under the curve of BMI,TC,TG,LDL-C single and combined prediction of sexual dysfunction in male type 2 diabetes patients were 0.764(95%CI:0.705-0.853),0.810(95%CI:0.745-0.876),0.735(95%CI:0.657-0.812),0.759(95%CI:0.693-0.836)and 0.872(95%CI:0.817-0.927).Conclusion BMI,TC,TG and LDL-C are related to sexual dysfunction in men with type 2 diabetes, and can be used to predict sexual dysfunction in men with type 2 diabetes.
