Effects of Xuanfei Pingchuan Decoction Combined with Mucosolvan and Thymosin on Children with Bronchial Asthma
Objective To explore effects of Xuanfei pingchuan decoction combined with mucosolvan and thymosin on children with bronchial asthma(BA).Methods A total of 108 children with BA admitted to the Fourth People's Hospital of Shangqiu from January 2021 to March 2023 were collected and randomly divided into control group A,control group B and combined group,with 36 cases in each group.Symptomatic supportive treatment was given to all three groups.Control group A was treated with mucosolvan oxygen spray inhalation on this basis,control group B was treated with mucosolvan combine with thymosin,and combined group was treated with Xuanfei pingchuan decoction combined with mucosolvan and thymosin.After 2 weeks of treatment,the asthma control rate and adverse reactions were compared among the three groups,and the asthma daytime and nighttime symptom scores,serum allergy indexes and lung function indexes were compared among the three groups.Results After 2 weeks of treatment,the total control rate of asthma in combined group was higher than that in control group A and control group B(P<0.05).After 2 weeks of treatment,asthma daytime score,nighttime symptom score,serum monocyte chenoattractant protein-1(MCP-1),leukotriene B4(LTB4),immunoglobulin E(IgE)and fractional exhaled nitric oxide(FeNO)showed combined group<control group B<control group A(P<0.05),forced expiratory volume in one second(FEV1),peak expiratory flow(PEF),50%maximal expiratory flow(MEF50%),25%maximal expiratory flow(MEF25%)showed combined group>control group B>control group A(P<0.05).The total incidence of adverse reaction in combined group was slightly higher than that in control group B and control group A,but there was no statistical differences among the three groups(P>0.05).Conclusion Xuanfei pingchuan decoction combined with mucosolvan and thymosin in the treatment of children with BA is effective,which is beneficial to control asthma symptoms,reduce allergy,improve lung function,and has high safety.
