Effect of Preoperative and Postoperative Difference in Carcinoembryonic Antigen on Postoperative Recurrence in Patients with Gastric Cancer Undergoing Laparoscopic Assisted Distal Gastrectomy
Objective To analyze the effect of preoperative and postoperative carcinoembryonic antigen(CEA)difference on recurrence of gastric cancer patients undergoing laparoscopy-assisted distal gastrectomy(LADG).Methods This study used a prospective analysis to include 110 gastric cancer patients treated with LADG at the People's Hospital of Anyang from January 2020 to June 2021 as the study subjects. They were followed up for 2 years and divided into recurrence group and non-recurrence group based on their recurrence within 2 years. The clinical data of the patients and the serum CEA levels at 1 day before operation and 1 month after operation were collected, and the difference was calculated to analyze the effect of CEA difference on the recurrence of LADG in patients with gastric cancer. Results Among 110 gastric cancer patients,41(37.27%)cases had recurrence 2 years after LADG surgery. The proportion of TNM stage Ⅲ patients in the recurrence group was higher than that without recurrence(P<0.05).There was no statistical difference in preoperative CEA between the two groups(P>0.05).Postoperative CEA and CEA difference in the recurrence group were higher than those in the non-recurrence group(P<0.05).Through point two column correlation analysis, the difference in preoperative and postoperative CEA was negatively correlated with postoperative recurrence of LADG in gastric cancer patients(r=-0.369,P<0.01).The receiver operating characteristic(ROC)curve was drawn. The results showed that the area under the curve(AUC)of CEA difference for predicting recurrence after thoracoscopic radical resection of lung cancer was 0.715,which had certain predictive value. Conclusion There is a close relationship between the postoperative recurrence of LADG in gastric cancer patients and the difference in serum CEA before and after surgery. The difference in serum CEA before and after surgery has certain predictive value for the postoperative recurrence of patients.
