Psychological Pain Status and Influencing Factors of Family Members of Children with Cough Variant Asthma
Objective To observe the psychological pain status of family members of children with cough variant asthma(CVA)and analyze its related influencing factors. Methods Convenient sampling method was used to select CVA patients and their families who visited Zhoukou Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital from June 2021 to June 2023 for a single center cross-sectional survey. The psychological pain status of the families of CVA patients was measured using a psychological pain thermometer(DT)and divided into DT≥4 group and DT<4 group. The uncertainty of illness, family resilience and demographic characteristics of family members of children with CVA were collected by parent's perception uncertainty scale(PPUS),Chinese family resilience scale(CFRS)and self-made data questionnaire.Univariate and multivariate analysis were used to analyze the influencing factors of psychological distress in family members of children with CVA.Results The age of children and the CFRS score of their family members in the DT ≥4 group were lower than those in the DT<4 group, and the CVA course of the children and the PPUS score of their family members were higher than those in the DT<4 group(P<0.05).The results of logistic regression analysis showed that the age of the patient and the high resilience of the family members were protective factors for the psychological pain of CVA patients'family members(OR<1,P<0.05),while the long course of CVA in the patient and the strong uncertainty of the disease in the family members were risk factors for the psychological pain of CVA patients'family members(OR>1,P<0.05).Conclusion Family members of CVA patients generally experience psychological pain, and young age, long course of CVA,low resilience of family members and strong sense of disease uncertainty are the influencing factors for the increased level of psychological pain in family members of CVA patients.
