Application of Formative Evaluation in Teaching Assistant General Practitioners
Objective To explore the implementation effect of mini clinical exercise evaluation(Mini-CEX)as a formative evaluation tool in the teaching of 3+2 assistant general practitioners. Methods Forty students who underwent regular training rotation in the General Medicine Department at the Second People's Hospital of Zhengzhou from July 2022 to July 2023 were selected. The participants were randomly divided into an experimental group and a control group using a randomized control table, with 20 students in each group. The experimental group used Mini-CEX as a formative assessment tool, while the control group continued to use traditional teaching methods. At the end of the rotation, the grades of the two groups of students were evaluated through the entrance exam and stage assessment. Results The experimental group's scores in theoretical written test, clinical skill operation, medical history collection, and physical examination were all higher than those of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion The use of Mini-CEX as a formative evaluation tool in standardized training for assistant general practitioners can effectively improve teaching effectiveness.Formative evaluation is an effective means to improve teaching quality and cultivate excellent general practitioners, with important educational and practical value and broad application prospects.
