Influence of Mild Hypothermia Treatment on Children with Severe Encephalitis
Objective To analyze the effect of mild hypothermia therapy on children with severe encephalitis.Methods A total of 100 children with severe encephalitis in the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University from December 2019 to December 2022 were randomly divided into observation group and control group,with 50 cases in each group.The control group was given routine treatment,and the observation group was given mild hypothermia treatment based on the control group.The efficacy,symptom improvement time(body temperature recovery time,limb movement recovery time,mental recovery time,convulsion disappearance time,hospitalization time),Motor function assessment scale,FMA score,inflammatory factor[C-reactive protein(CRP)],interleukin-6(IL-6),interleukin-8(IL-8),tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α)levels,neuron-specific enolase(neuron-specific enolase,TNF-α),neuron-specific enolase(NSE),glial specific protein(S100B)levels and adverse reactions were compared between the two groups.Results The total effective rate of the observation group was higher than that of the control group(P<0.05).The days of body temperature recovery,limb movement recovery,mental recovery,convulsion disappearance and hospitalization in observation group were shorter than those in control group(P<0.05).After treatment,the scores of upper and lower limbs in the observation group were higher than those in the control group(P<0.05).After treatment,the levels of CRP,IL-6,IL-8,TNF-α,NSE and S100B in observation group were lower than those in control group(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion The ultra-low temperature therapy device has a definite effect on treating children with severe encephalitis,which can reduce inflammatory reactions,regulate NSE and S100B levels,promote symptom and limb movement improvement,and is safe.
