Relationship Between the Expression of IL-10 and LTD4 in Middle Ear Effusion and Postoperative Eustachian Tube Obstruction in Patients with Secretory Otitis Media
Objective To investigate the relationship between the expression of interleukin-10(IL-10)and leukotriene D4(LTD4)in middle ear effusion and postoperative eustachian tube obstruction in patients with secretory otitis media. Methods Retrospective analysis was conducted to collect clinical data of 120 patients with secretory otitis media who underwent surgical treatment at the Affiliated Hospital of Xinyang Vocational and Technical College from January 2019 to December 2022.All patients underwent preoperative examination for IL-10 and LTD4 in the middle ear effusion, and all completed a 6-month follow-up after surgery.According to the occurrence of postoperative eustachian tube obstruction in patients, clinical data of 31 patients with concurrent eustachian tube obstruction during the follow-up period were included in the occurrence group, and clinical data of the remaining 89 patients without concurrent eustachian tube obstruction were included in the non occurrence group. The data required for the study were reviewed and recorded, and the possible factors were included.Multivariate logistic regression analysis was used to test the influencing factors of postoperative eustachian tube obstruction in patients with secretory otitis media. The relationships between the expression of IL-10 and LTD4 in middle ear effusion and postoperative eustachian tube obstruction in patients with secretory otitis media were analyzed. Results The univariate analysis showed that the levels of IL-10 and LTD4 in the middle ear effusion in the occurrence group were higher than those in the non occurrence group, and the proportion of eustachian tube dysfunction was higher than that in the non occurrence group, with a statistical significant difference(P<0.05).The results of multivariate logistic analysis showed that high levels of IL-10 and LTD4 in middle ear effusion,as well as poor eustachian tube function, were risk factors for postoperative eustachian tube obstruction in patients with secretory otitis media(OR>1,P<0.05).Conclusion The expression of IL-10 and LTD4 in middle ear effusion is closely related to postoperative eustachian tube obstruction in patients with secretory otitis media, and their high expression is a risk factor for postoperative complications of eustachian tube obstruction in patients with secretory otitis media.
