Effect of Umbilical Moxibustion Combined with Xiangsha Liujunzi Decoction on Postoperative Patients with Lumbar Disc Herniation
Objective To explore the effect of umbilical moxibustion combined with Xiangsha Liujunzi Decoction on lumbar disc herniation after general anesthesia.Methods This study included 66 patients after general anesthesia for lumbar disc herniation treated at the First Affiliated Hospital of Henan University of Traditional Chinese Medicine from February 2022 to January 2023.They were randomly divided into control group and study group,with 33 cases in each group.The control group was given routine treatment after operation,while the study group was given umbilical moxibustion combined with Xiangsha Liujunzi Decoction.The recovery time of gastrointestinal function,serum gastrin(GAS)before treatment,1,2 and 3 days after treatment,and visual analog scale(VAS)and Japanese orthopedic association scores(JOA)at 1,2 weeks and 2,6 months after surgery were compared between the two groups.Results Bowel sound recovery,exhaust gas and defecation time in the study group were shorter than the control group(P＜0.05).Compared with before treatment,the serum GAS in the study group increased on the 1st,2nd and 3rd day(P＜0.05),and the study group was higher than that in the control group(P＜0.05).Two weeks,2 months and 6 months after surgery,the VAS score of the study group were lower than those of the control group,while the JOA score were higher than those of the control group(P＜0.05).Conclusion Umbilical moxibustion combined with Xiangsha Liujunzi Decoction can restore the trointestinal function of patients with lumbar disc herniation under general anesthesia,increase the level of serum GAS,relieve the pain of patients and promote the recovery of lumbar function.
