Construction of a Column Chart Model for the Risk of Airway Mucus Embolism Formation in Children with Mycoplasma Pneumoniae Pneumonia
Objective To analyze the factors contributing to the formation of airway mucus plugs in children with Mycoplasma pneumoniae pneumonia(MPP)and construct a column chart model. Methods Clinical data of 118 children with MPP admitted to Puyang People's Hospital from January 2021 to December 2022 were retrospectively collected.According to whether airway mucus plugs were formed under fiberoptic bronchoscopy, they were divided into non-mucus plug group(78 cases)and mucus plug group(40 cases). The clinical data of the two groups were compared.A risk prediction model for the formation of airway mucus plugs in children with MPP was analyzed and constructed. The nomogram was constructed by R software, and its discrimination and accuracy were internally verified. Results Compared with the non-mucous plug group, the proportion of fever, neutrophils, lactate dehydrogenase,C-reactive protein and pleural effusion in the mucus plug group were higher(P<0.05).The results of logistic regression analysis showed that the influencing factors of airway mucus clot formation in MPP children were heat stroke, neutrophils, lactate dehydrogenase,C-reactive protein, and pleural effusion(OR>1,P<0.05).A column chart was drawn to construct a risk prediction model for airway mucus clot formation in MPP children, which showed good discrimination(C-index was 0.993).Standard curve was drawn to show that the model had good accuracy(the calibration curve was similar to the Y-X line). Conclusion The factors of airway mucus plug formation in children with MPP include neutrophils, lactate dehydrogenase,C-reactive protein, pleural effusion, and thermal process, and the risk prediction model of airway mucus plug formation in children with MPP based on the above factors has certain predictive value.
