Application of Video and Action Oriented Teaching Method in Health Education for Care of Patients with Upper Urinary Tract Stones After Surgery with Indwelling Double J Tubes
Objective To explore the effect of applying video and action oriented teaching method in care for patients with upper urinary tract stones(UUTS)who had left double J tubes after surgery.Methods A total of 86 patients from October 2021 to September 2023 who were underwent UUTS surgery with double J catheters in Luohe Central Hospital were selected,and divided into the intervention group(43 cases,video and action oriented teaching method health education)and the control group(43 cases,routine health education).The mastery of health knowledge,self-management ability,self-efficacy and complications in both groups were compared.Results After intervention,the disease knowledge and nursing knowledge scores in both groups were improved(P<0.05),and in comparision of the control group,the intervention group were higher(P<0.05).After intervention,the rating scale of health self-management skill for adults scores in both groups were improved(P<0.05),and in comparision of the control group,the intervention group was higher(P<0.05).After intervention,general self-efficacy scale scores in both groups were improved(P<0.05),and in comparision of the control group,the intervention group was higher(P<0.05).In the incidence of complications,in comparision of the control group(20.93%),in the intervention group(4.65%)was lower(P<0.05).Conclusion The combination of video and action oriented teaching method in health education can deepen the patient's understanding of health knowledge,improve their self-management ability and self-efficacy,and reduce the incidence of complications in care of patients with double J catheters after UUTS surgery.
