Current Status of Body Understanding in Third Trimester Pregnant Women and Its Correlation with Prenatal Depression and Psychological Resilience
Objective To explore the current body understanding experienced by women in the third trimester of pregnancy, analyze the influencing factors, and examine the correlation between this understanding, prenatal depressive mood, and psychological resilience. Methods A total of 180 women in the third trimester of pregnancy from the obstetrics outpatient department of a tertiary hospital in Henan Province from July to September 2023 were selected as the study participants. The body understanding scale(BUMPs),the Edinburgh postnatal depression scale(EP-DS),and the psychological resilience scale were used for the survey. Results The total score of the BUMPs for the participants was(55.83±2.52)points.Correlation analysis indicated a negative correlation between body understanding and psychological resilience, and a positive correlation with prenatal depression(P<0.01).Multiple linear regression analysis revealed that age, primiparity, psychological resilience, and prenatal depression were influencing factors of body understanding, accounting for 56.2%of the total variance. Conclusion The dissatisfaction with body understanding among women in the third trimester of pregnancy is relatively high.In clinical practice, attention should be given to enhancing psychological resilience and reducing depressive symptoms in order to lower the dissatisfaction with body understanding during late pregnancy.
