Clinical Effects of Platelet-Rich Plasma Combined with Ultra-short Wave in the Treatment of Knee Osteoarthritis
Objective To observe the clinical efficacy and safety of platelet-rich plasma(PRP)combined with ultra-short wave in the treatment of knee osteoarthritis. Methods From September 2021 to September 2022 in Henan Hongli Hospital,a total of 60 patients with knee osteoarthritis were selected, these patients were divided into control group and observation group according to random number table method. The observation group was given PRP intra-knee injection combined with ultra-short wave therapy, whereas the control group was given ultra-short wave therapy only.Western Ontario and McMaster University osteoarthritis index(WOMAC),visual analogue scale(VAS),morning stiffness time, knee functional recovery and adverse reactions were compared between the two groups after 3 months treatments. Results The total effective rate of knee functional recovery was 93.3%in the observation group, which was higher than that of in the control group(70.0%)(P=0.043).After three months treatments, both VAS score and WOMAC score were lower than before treatments(P<0.001),and the observation group were lower than those in the control group(P<0.001).The morning stiffness time of the two groups was shorter than before treatments(P<0.001),and the observation group was shorter than that of the control group(P=0.027).In the observation group,5 patients had transient mild swelling of knee joint. Conclusion PRP combined with ultra-short wave is effective in the treatment of knee osteoarthritis, which can effectively relieve pain and improve knee joint function with slight side effects.
