Effect of Acupoint Acupuncture Combined with Sacral Canal Closure Surgery on Lumbar Disc Herniation
Objective To explore the application effect of acupoint acupuncture combined with sacral canal closure surgery in the treatment of lumbar disc herniation(LDH).Methods This study was a prospective randomized controlled study.According to the random number table method,100 patients with LDH admitted to the Zhengzhou Traditional Chinese Medicine Orthopedic Hospital from February 2020 to October 2022 were divided into two groups,50 cases in each group. The control group was given acupoint acupuncture treatment, while the observation group was treated with sacral canal closure surgery on the basis of the control group, both of which continued for 3 courses of treatment. The efficacy of the two groups was compared,as well as lumbar function[Japanese Orthopaedic Association(JOA)score]and pain[visual analogue scale(VAS)score],low back muscle biomechanics[ratio of low back flexor to extensor(F/E),average power(AP)and peak torque(PT)]before and after 3 courses of treatment, and the incidence of adverse reactions during the treatment of the two groups was counted. Results The total effective rate of the control group was lower than that of the observation group(P<0.05).After 3 courses of treatment, the VAS score and F/E in the control group were higher than those in the observation group, while the JOA score,AP,and PT were lower than those in the observation group(P<0.05).During the treatment period, there was no statistical difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion The application effect of sacral canal closure combined with acupoint acupuncture in the treatment of LDH is significant, which can effectively improve the lumbar function and biomechanics of lumbar and back muscles, relieve the pain degree of patients, and will not increase adverse reactions.
