Effect of Self-management Based on Empowerment Theory on Coping Style,Self-care Ability and Postoperative Limb Function Rehabilitation of Brain Tumor Patients
Objective To explore the application effect of self-management based on empowerment theory in patients with brain tumor.Methods A total of 92 patients with brain tumor admitted to the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University from January 2022 to June 2023 were selected and divided into control group and observation group by random number table method,with 46 cases in each group.The control group received routine nursing,and the observation group received self-management based on empowerment theory.The medical coping modes questionnaire(MCMQ),exercise of self-care agency scale(ESCA),Herth hope index(HHI),Fugl-Meyer assessment scale(FMA)and modified Barthel index(BI)were observed before and after the intervention.Results After the intervention,the observation group had lower yielding and avoidance scores than the control group,and had higher facing,ESC A,HHI,FM A,and BI scores than the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion In the nursing work of brain tumor patients,self-management based on empowerment theory can help to change the coping style of patients,improve the level of hope,enhance self-care ability,and promote the recovery of limb function and daily living ability.
