Relationship between childhood trauma and family environment in children and adolescents with bipolar depressive disorder
Objective To explore the relation of childhood trauma and family environment in the children and adolescents with bipolar depressive disorder.Methods A total of sixty children and adolescents with depressive episode of bipolar dis-order who were treated in the outpatient and inpatient department of The Eighth People's Hospital of Zhengzhou from De-cember 2019 to November 2020 were selected as the study group.Sixty age,gender,and education matched children and adolescents healthy control participants were enrolled.Childhood Trauma Questionnaire(CTQ)and family environment scale-Chinese version(FES-CV)were used to evaluate the children and adolescents in the two groups.In addition,we analyzed the relationship between childhood trauma and family environment characteristics in the study group.Results The scores of the emotional abuse,physical abuse,sexual abuse,physical neglect emotional and physical neg-lect in the study group were significantly higher than those in the control group(P<0.05).The scores of cohesion,expres-siveness,achievement orientation,intellectual-cultural orientation,active-recreational orientation and moral-religious emphasis in the study group were all obviously lower than the control group in FES-CV.While the scores of conflict and controlling orientation were higher than that of the control group(P<0.05).For the study group,the correlation analysis showed that the factor scores of emotional abuse,physical abuse,sexual abuse,physical neglect emotional and physical neglect were negatively correlated with cohesion,expressiveness and intellectual-cultural orientation(P<0.05).The factor scores of emotional abuse,physical abuse,sexual abuse and physical neglect emotional were positively correlated with conflict,but was negatively correlated with active-recreational orientation(P<0.05).The factor scores of emotional abuse was negatively correlated with achievement orientation and moral-religious emphasis,but was positively correlated controlling orientation(P<0.05).The factor scores of physical neglect emotional and physical neglect were negatively correlated with achievement orientation and moral-religious empha-sis(P<0.05).Conclusion The children and adolescents with bipolar depressive disorder have childhood trauma and un-healthy family environment.The more unhealthy family environment,the more childhood trauma.
