Analysis of effect of different kinds of brackets in correction of adolescents with dentofacial deformity
Objective To analyze the effects of different types of brackets in the correction of adolescents with dentofa-cial deformities.Methods A total of 74 adolescent patients with dentofacial deformity admitted to Zhoukou City Mater-nal and Child Health Care Hospital from August 2018 to October 2019 were selected and divided into a study group and a control group with 37 cases each according to the computerized random blind selection method.The control group was treated with straight wire bracket appliances,and the study group was treated with self-locking bracket appliances.Be-fore treatment and 2 years after treatment,compared the two groups of plaque index(PLI),gingival index(GI),pro-bing depth(GCD)and gingival crevicular fluid volume(GCF),NP-FH angle,Y-axis angle,SNA angle;Before treatment and 30 days after treatment,compare the values of matrix metalloproteinase-2(MMP-2),dinoprostaglandin(PGE2)and aspartate aminotransferase(AST)between the two groups;Compared the aesthetic effects of the two groups.Results After 2 years of treatment,the PLI,GI,PGE2,and AST of the two groups decreased,lower in the study group than in the control group,differences were statistically significant(P＜0.05);Probing depth of two groups depth,gingival crevicular fluid volume,NP-FH angle,SNA angle,Y-axis angle,and MMP-2 values all in-creased,and the study group's probing depth,gingival crevicular fluid volume,NP-FH angle,and MMP-2 values were all less than those of control group,differences were statistically significant(P＜0.05);The SNA angle and Y-axis angle were higher in the study group than in the control group,differences were statistically significant(P＜0.05);The overall aesthetic rate was higher in the study group(94.59％)than that in the control group(72.97％),differ-ences were statistically significant(P＜0.05).Conclusion Compared with the traditional straight wire bracket appli-ance,the self-locking bracket appliance is used to correct young people's dentofacial deformity,and the correction effect is more ideal.It can improve the periodontal health,reduce the oral inflammation,and has an ideal aesthetic effect,high feasibility.
