Serum 8-hydroxydeoxyguanosine expression levels and clinical significance in patients with pneumoconiosis
Objective To explore the expression level and clinical significance of serum 8-hydroxydeoxyguanosine(8-OHdG)in patients with pneumoconiosis. Methods The serum from 201 patients with pneumoconiosis(pneumoconiosis group)and 80 patients who passed the health examination without pneumoconiosis(healthy control group)were collect-ed,from Sept.2020 to June 2023.the types of dust exposure, the age of dust exposure, the time of onset and the stage of pneumoconiosis and the Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease Assessment Test questionnaire(CAT score)were col-lected.The serum level of 8-OHdG were measured by double antibody sandwich enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA).Results It was obvious the serum 8-OHdG level of pneumoconiosis group was higher than healthy control group, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.001);For each 0.1 ng/mL increase in serum 8-OHdG concen-tration,the relative risk of pneumoconiosis increased by 44.1%(P<0.001);Serum 8-OHdG level was positively cor-related with CAT score in patients with pneumoconiosis(P<0.05).Conclusion Serum 8-OHdG level was associated with pneumoconiosis and it can be used as an independent risk factor for pneumoconiosis. Therefore, serum 8-OHdG level has potentiality with to be used as an objective indicator for evaluating pneumoconiosis.
