Effect of body weight fluctuation on cardiovascular events in patients with rheumatoid arthritis
Objective To evaluate the correlation between WF and CV in patients with RA.Methods A total of 489 RA patients admitted to Puyang People's Hospital from May 2016 to September 2019 were selected and divided into 5 groups according to their WF status. The CV status of patients was followed up to investigate, and the CV incidence of patients in each group was compared and analyzed,so as to explore the influence of WF on the CV incidence of patients with RA.Results Compared to non WF patients, patients with weight loss>10%or weight gain>10%have a higher risk of CV;Age,male, high DAS28 score, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, family history of CVD,smoking and WF were risk factors of CV in RA patients(P<0.05,OR>1);Compared with non-WF patients, the OR values for CVD in RA patients with weight loss>10%,weight gain 5-10%,and weight gain>10%were 1.372,1.245,and 1.311,re-spectively;The OR values for CV in RA patients with BMI ≥24 were 1.226,1.183,and 1.205 for those with weight loss>10%,weight gain 5-10%,and weight gain>10%,respectively.The OR values for CV in RA patients with BMI<24 were 1.489、1.224,1.327,and 1.588 for those with weight loss>10%,weight loss 5-10%,weight gain 5-10%,and weight gain>10%,respectively.Conclusion RA patients with weight loss>10%and weight gain>10%have a higher risk of developing CV.The impact of weight loss>10%on CV in RA patients with BMI<24 is higher than of patients with BMI ≥ 24;The impact of weight gain>10%on CV in RA patients with BMI<24 is higher than of patients with BMI ≥24.
