Application of 3D earmould in individualized auricle reconstruction for children
Objective To explore the advantages of using autologous costal cartilage for the reconstruction of children's indi-vidual auricles in children with Craniomaxillofacial asymmetry with the aid of 3D printing technology. Methods From August 2019 to September 2021,70 patients with microtia were treated in the Plastic Surgery Department of Henan Provincial People's Hospital. They were randomly divided into the study group and the control group, with 35 patients in each group.3D printed ear molds and traditional film earmould were used as stenographic engraving. Results Six months after the surgery, the over-all evaluation rate of the reconstruction auricle shape by the surgeon,third-party plastic surgeons and family members was 94.3%in the study group and 77.1%in the control group,P=0.003<0.050,and the difference was statistically significant. Conclusion With the aid of 3D printing technology, the use of autologous costal cartilage for the reconstruction of patients with craniomaxillofacial asymmetry and microtia, the position is more symmetrical, the shape is realistic, the stereoscopic effect is strong, the patient's family and doctors satisfaction is high,it is worthy of clinical Promotion and application.
