Clinical application value of TORCH screening in health examination of men and women of childbearing age
Objective To investigate the prevalence of TORCH infections among reproductive-aged men and women in the local area, and to analyze and explore the clinical application value of TORCH screening in reproductive-aged men and women's health examination,in order to provide better clinical guidance for eugenics and postnatal care. Methods A total of 2 272 reproductive-aged men and women who underwent TORCH screening in pediatric laboratory of the First Af-filiated Hospital of Henan University of Chinese Medicine from April 2020 to January 2023 were collected retrospectively. The IgM and IgG antibodies of TORCH pathogens were quantitatively detected by direct chemiluminescence method.SPSS 25.0 was used to analyze the data. Results Among the 2 272 reproductive-aged men and women, the positivity rates of TORCH IgM antibodies from high to low were HSV-Ⅰ-IgM(0.40%),CMV-IgM(0.31%),TOX-IgM(0.22%),HSV-Ⅱ-IgM(0.22%),and RV-IgM(0.18%);the positive rates of IgG antibodies from high to low were CMV-IgG(95.07%),HSV-Ⅰ-IgG(90.10%),RV-IgG(80.59%),HSV-Ⅱ-IgG(7.22%),and TOX-IgG(0.66%);the double positive rates of IgM+IgG from high to low were HSV-Ⅰ-IgM+IgG double-positive(0.40%),CMV-IgM+IgG double-positive(0.31%),and RV-IgM+IgG double-posi-tive(0.18%).The positive rates of HSV-Ⅰ-IgG and HSV-Ⅱ-IgG among reproductive-aged women were higher than those among reproductive-aged men,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).According to age grouping, the RV-IgG positive rate in the older age group was lower than that in the younger age group, while the HSV-Ⅱ-IgG positive rate was higher than that in the younger age group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion Due to the active and effective protective measures taken to prevent the epidemic situation in novel coronavirus, the recent infection rate of RV-based pathogens in TORCH has been significantly reduced.Expand the screening scope and frequency of TORCH in the health examination of reproduc-tive-aged men and women, and take corresponding preventive measures according to the screening results to avoid the oc-currence of adverse pregnancies and reduce the rate of birth defects.
