Effect of pantoprazole combined with octreotide on the level of inflammatory factors in patients with peptic ulcer bleeding
Objective To investigate the efficacy of pantoprazole combined with octreotide in treating peptic ulcer bleed-ing and the effects on the levels of inflammatory factors[interleukin-6(IL-6),interleukin-8(IL-8),tumor nec-rosis factor-α(TNF-α)].Methods A total of 110 cases of peptic ulcer hemorrhage admitted to the Affiliated Hos-pital of Xinyang Vocational and Technical College from February 2021 to May 2022 were selected and divided into groups according to the treatment methods.55 cases were treated with single Pantoprazole intravenous infusion as the control group, and 55 cases were treated with octreotide on the basis of the control group as the combination group. The total ef-fective rate, average hospital stay, blood loss, hemostatic time and other clinical indicators, levels of inflammatory fac-tors(IL-6,IL-8,TNF-α)and PH value of gastric juice were compared between the two groups. Results The total effective rate of the combined group was 96.36%,higher than that of the control group(78.18%)(P<0.05).The average blood transfusion volume of the combined group was(314.45±14.44)mL,which was lower than that of the control group(426.93±14.40)mL.The average hemostatic time and hospitalization time were(21.59±1.28)h and(4.79±0.16)d,respectively.It was shorter than that of control group(38.22±1.21)h and(6.59±0.17)d(P<0.05).There was no statistical significance in the levels of inflammatory factors IL-6,IL-8 and TNF-α be-tween the two groups before treatment(P>0.05).After treatment, the levels of IL-6,IL-8 and TNF-α in combi-nation group were(133.48±20.26)pg/mL(95.51±7.85)pg/mL and(1.01±0.16)ng/mL,respectively,which were lower than those in control group(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in the pH value of gastric juice between the two groups before treatment(P>0.05).The pH value of gastric juice after treatment in the combined group(6.11±2.29)was higher than that in the control group(5.78±2.21)(P<0.05).Conclusion The combina-tion of pantoprazole and octreotide is effective in patients with peptic ulcer, which can improve treatment efficiency,re-duce blood loss, shorten hemostasis time and hospital stay, and effectively improve the level of gastrointestinal inflamma-tory factors, which is worthy of clinical promotion.
