Value of serum fibrinogen as a diagnostic and prognostic biomarker for pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma
Objective To investigate the value of serum fibrinogen(FIB)as a diagnostic and prognostic biomarker of pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma(PDAC).Methods From January 2021 to December 2022,totally 80 PDAC patients in Pingmei Shenma Medical Group General Hospital were selected as PDAC group, and 80 patients with benign pancreat-ic lesions were selected as the control group. The follow-up deadline was December 2023 to compare serum FIB and the diagnostic value of serum FIB in PDAC patients with different clinical and pathological characteristics, and analyze the riskfactors of death and the predictive value of serum FIB on the prognosis of death in PDAC patients. Results Ser-um FIB was significantly higher in the PDAC group compared with that of the control group(P<0.05).ROC curve a-nalysis showed that the ACU of serum FIB diagnosis of PDAC was 0.927,yoden index was 0.75,sensitivity and specifici-ty were 83.8%,91.2%,and 95%CI(0.889,0.965),respectively.The serum FIB of different age, sex, tumor site, tumor size,TNM stage, and PDAC patients were not statistically significant(P<0.05),lymph node metastasis,CA19-937U/mL,CEA 5 μg/L,tumor resection margin R1,prognostic death PDAC patients had higher serum FIB than the cor-responding lymph node metastasis,CA19-9<37U/mL,CEA<5 μg/L,tumor resection margin R0,and prognostic sur-vival PDAC patients(P<0.05).FIB was a risk factor for prognostic death by Cox regression(P<0.05).ROC curve analysis showed that serum FIB predicted the prognosis of death in PDAC patients with 0.868,yoden index of 0.705,sensitivity and specificity of 86.2%,84.3%,and 95%CI(0.785,0.951),respectively.Conclusion Serum FIB has a high diagnostic value for PDAC and a high predictive value for prognostic death in PDAC patients.
