Correlation between plasma neopterin level and prognosis in patients with stable coronary heart disease
Objective To investigate the correlation between plasma neopterin(NPT)level and prognosis in patients with stable coronary heart disease(CHD).Methods Totallty 90 patients with stable coronary heart disease admitted to the cardiovascular department of our hospital from June 2020 to June 2022 were retrospectively selected.According to the prognosis, the patients were divided into the poor prognosis group and the good prognosis group, with 30 and 60 ca-ses respectively.General data of the two groups of patients were observed, including age, gender, smoking, exercise, hypertension, diabetes, blood lipid levels, and inflammatory factor indexes. The correlation between serum NPT expres-sion and prognosis was analyzed. Results Among the 90 patients with stable CHD,60 had good prognosis and 30 had poor prognosis. There were no significant differences in age, sex, smoking, exercise, hypertension, diabetes, total cho-lesterol(TC),triglyceride(TG),high density lipoprotein cholesterol(HDL-C),low density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL-C),very low density lipoprotein(VLDL)and interleukin-8(IL-8)between the two groups(P>0.05).The level of serum NPT index in the good prognosis group was significantly different from that in the poor prognosis group(P<0.05).Spearman analysis was used to analyze the relationship between serum NPT index level and prognosis of patients with stable coronary heart disease, and it was found that serum NPT index level was negatively correlated with prognosis of patients with stable coronary heart disease(OR=-0.225;P=0.003).Conclusion Serum NPT index level is negatively correlated with the prognosis of patients with stable coronary heart disease. Therefore, dynamic monitoring of serum NPT index level during the treatment of patients with stable coronary heart disease can provide a basis for clinical prevention of adverse cardiovascular events.
