Clinical observation of new minimally invasive tooth extraction and traditional tooth extraction in the extraction of impacted teeth
Objective To investigate the effect of traditional tooth extraction and the use of new minimally invasive dent-al forceps on the clinical effect of impacted tooth extraction. Methods From January 2020 to January 2023,totally 120 patients with impacted mandibular teeth were treated in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery of the Third People's Hospital of Henan Province. These patients were randomly divided into two groups:the control group(n=60)treated with traditional tooth extraction and the experimental group(n=60)treated with new minimally invasive tooth extraction. The extraction time, postoperative visual analog scale(VAS)score, intraoperative complications(bleeding, lingual plate fracture, root fracture, gum tear)and postoperative complications(dry groove, postoperative infection, mouth restriction, facial swelling)were compared between the two groups with different surgical methods. Results The duration of tooth extraction using traditional methods was longer than that using the new minimally invasive dental forceps group, and the postoperative VAS pain score was higher than that using the new minimally invasive dental forceps group. In addition, the incidence of intraoperative and postoperative complications and the limitation of mouth opening were sig-nificantly higher in the group using traditional extraction methods than in the group using the new minimally invasive dental forceps(P<0.05).Conclusion For mandibular impacted teeth, new minimally invasive dental forceps tooth extraction can effectively reduce the operation time and pain of patients and the incidence of intraoperative and postopera-tive complications.
