Analysis of application value of integrated Chinese and western medicine in patients with stroke and sleep disorders
Objective To investigate the therapeutic efficacy of an integrated approach combining traditional Chinese medicine and Western medicine therapy for post-stroke sleep disorders, analyze its clinical applicability, and provide a scientific foundation for optimizing treatment strategies. Methods A total of 100 stroke patients with sleep disorders were admitted to the Department of Encephalopathy at the First Affiliated Hospital of Henan University of Chinese Medi-cine from January 2022 to June 2022.Among them, the control group consisted of 50 patients treated solely with western medicine, while the study group included the other 50 patients who received integrated traditional Chinese and western medicine treatment. The overall efficacy was compared between the two groups. Results After 7 days,15 days, and 30 days of treatment, the sleep efficiency of the two groups gradually increased, and the treatment group showed better im-provement than the control group(P<0.05).After treatment, the levels of serum neurotrophin-3(NT-3)and 5-hydroxytryptamine(5-HT)in both groups significantly decreased before treatment, while the levels of serum brain-derived neurotrophin factor(BDNF)significantly increased(P<0.05).After treatment, the serum levels of NT-3,5-HT,and BDNF in the study group improved significantly compared to the control group(P<0.05).After 7 days,15 days, and 30 days of treatment, the pittsburgh sleep quality index(PSQI)scores of the two groups gradually de-creased,and the treatment group was lower than that in the control group(P<0.05).After 7 days,15 days, and 30 days of treatment, the scores of the two groups of short form health survey(SF-36)increased with time, and the treatment group was higher than that in the control group(P<0.05).The incidence of adverse reactions in the treatment group was 2.00%,lower than the control group's 16.00%(P<0.05).Conclusion The treatment of stroke patients with sleep disorders with integrated Chinese and western medicine not only has positive significance on sleep quality and nerv-ous function, but also can reduce adverse reactions, which is feasible and has high application value.
