Clinical effect of traditional Chinese medicine Neiyi Xiao combined with GnRH-a on protecting ovarian function after conservative surgery for ovarian endometrial cyst
Objective To evaluate the therapeutic efficacy of the combination treatment with traditional Chinese medicine Neiyi Xiao and gonadotropin-releasing hormone agonists(GnRH-a)on the preservation of ovarian function following conservative surgical intervention for ovarian endometrial cysts. Methods Totally 80 patients who underwent conserva-tive surgery for ovarian endometrial cyst in Punan Hospital and Shuguang Hospital Affiliated to Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine were selected and divided into a control group and a study group with 40 cases each. The con-trol group was treated with GNRH-a(triptorelin acetate for injection),and the study group was treated with traditional Chinese medicine Neiyi Xiao prescription based on the control group.Serum anti-müllerian hormone(AMH),tumor marker CA125,follicle-stimulating hormone(FSH),and luteinizing hormone(LH)levels were measured before and three months after treatment in both groups. The traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)syndrome scores of the two groups were compared. Results After statistical analysis, the study group showed a higher total effective rate than the control group(P<0.05).Before treatment, there was no significant difference in the parameters between the two groups of subjects(P>0.05).After treatment, the reduction in TCM syndrome scores in the study group was significantly greater than that in the control group(P<0.05),and symptoms improvement was more pronounced compared to the control group.AMH and CA125 were higher than those of the control group(P<0.05),while FSH and LH were lower than those of the control group, and the difference was statistically singinficant(P<0.05).Conclusion The use of tradi-tional Chinese medicine Neiyi Xiao prescription combined with GnRH-a therapy can improve ovarian function in pa-tients with ovarian endometrioma after conservative surgery.
