Analysis of knowledge,attitude,and influencing factors of foodborne parasitic diseases among community residents
Objective Analysis of the current status and influencing factors of knowledge,attitudes,and practices re-garding foodborne parasitic diseases among residents of a community in Yuanhui District,Luohe City.Methods Using a multi-stage cluster sampling method,a total of 360 individuals were randomly selected from four survey areas from June 2023 to September 2023.A questionnaire was used to assess residents'knowledge,attitudes,and practices regard-ing foodborne parasitic diseases,and the influencing factors were analyzed.Results The awareness rate of healthy be-haviors related to foodborne parasitic diseases among the survey participants was 12.07%,the awareness rate of beliefs was 23.56%,and the overall awareness rate was 21.84%(76/348).The results of the logistic regression analysis showed that being aged ≤60 years,having a higher education level,having relatives working in medical institutions,undergoing regular health check-ups,having a history of parasitic infections,being concerned about food safety,atten-ding health lectures,and having actively searched for parasitic-related information online are independent influencing factors for knowledge,attitudes,and practices(KAP)(P<0.05).Conclusion Community residents in Yuanhui District,Luohe City have a low awareness of foodborne parasitic diseases and health behaviors,and there are many influ-encing factors.Local public health organizations should attach great importance to health guidance on parasitic infections.
