Impacts of sandplay therapy combined with reward based language training on language development and social skills in children with autism
Objective To explore the impacts of sandplay therapy combined with reward based language training on lan-guage development and social skills in children with autism. Methods Using a random number table method,80 select-ed children who treated in the Zhumadian Central Hospital for autism treatment from January 2021 to January 2023 were separated into an observation group(40 cases)and a reference group(40 cases),the reference group received reward based language training for treatment, while the observation group received sandplay therapy on the basis of the reference groups treatment. The clinical efficacy, autism symptom assessment, autism treatment assessment, and autism behavior assessment of the two groups were compared. Results After intervention, the scores of Chinese psychoeducational pho-file-3(CPEP-3)scale in both groups were improved, and the improvement was more obvious in the observation group and the control group(P<0.05);after the intervention, the scores of the childhood autism rating scale(CARS),au-tism treatment evaluation checklist(ATEC),and autism behavior checklist(ABC)in the observation group and refer-ence group decreased, and the CARS,ATEC,and ABC scores in the observation group were greatly lower than those in the reference group(P<0.05).Conclusion The combination of sandplay therapy and reward based language training can effectively improve the language development and social skills of children with autism.
