Effect of different fertilization time to fertilization and development outcomes of homologous oocytes
Objective To investigate the effect of short-time fertilization and long-time fertilization to the fertilization and development outcomes of homologous oocytes. Methods A retrospective analysis of 45 IVF cycles was conducted on in Reproductive Medicine Center of Changzhou Maternal and Child Health Care Hospital from June 2022 to June 2023.The first 10 oocytes obtained in each cycle were used for short-term fertilization, and the remaining oocytes were used for long-term fertilization,450 oocytes were fertilized for 4.5 h in short-time fertilization group, while the other 663 oocytes fertilized for 18 h were in long-time fertilization group. The fertilization and embryo development outcomes of the two groups were observed and analyzed. Results There was no difference on fertilization rate among the two groups(P>0.05),also there was no significant difference in good quality embryo rate on day 3 and blastocyst develop-ment outcome(P>0.05).Conclusion Long-time fertilization and short-time fertilization have the similar results on fertilization rate and embryo development outcomes of homologous oocytes, without regard to the fertilization failure,long-time fertilization is still worthy in assisted reproductive technology.
