Study on correlation between biood Nrf2 and HO-1 and prognosis in Severe pneumonia patients
Objective To explore the expression of nuclear factor ergthroid 2-related factor 2(Nrf2)and heme oxygenase 1(HO-1)in severe pneumonia and their relationship with patient prognosis. To explore whether biomarkers can assess the prognosis of severe pneumonia. Methods A study was conducted on 87 patients with severe pneumonia who were hospitalized in the Department of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine and Emergency Intensive Care Unit of Yangpu Hospital from Jan-uary 1,2023 to July 31,2023.Patients were divided into a death group and a survival group based on clinical outcome. While detecting peripheral blood Nrf2 and HO-1 in both groups on day 1 and day 4,statistical analysis was conducted using the software SPSS 19.0.Results Day 4 blood Nrf2 and HO-1 were significantly correlated with the prognosis of severe pneumo-nia,showing statistical significance(P<0.01).The area under the receiver operating characteristic(ROC)curve was 0.827 and 0.793,respectively,indicating their high predictive value for the prognosis of severe pneumonia patients. Conclusion The Nrf2 and HO-1 levels in the blood of patients with severe pneumonia on day 4 have certain predictive val-ue with regard to their prognosis, displaying an inverse relationship with their overall health outcome.
