Analysis of prognostic values of serum asprosin and 25(OH)D3 in T2DM complicated with peripheral neuropathy
Objective To explore the clinical potential of serum lipocalin and 25-hydroxyvitamin D3[25(OH)D3]in identifying peripheral neuropathy(PN)among type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM)patients.Methods A total of 150 T2DM patients admitted to Anyang District Hospital in Puyang from March 2023 to March 2024 were included in this study.Among them,56 patients with PN were included in the PN group and 94 patients without PN were included in the non-PN group.Independent sample t test analysis and binary logistic regression analysis were employed to explore the independent influencing factors of T2DM cases with PN.Receiver operating characteristic(ROC)curve was employed to evaluate the predictive efficacy of serum asprosin and 25(OH)D3 in T2DM patients with PN.Results The results of independent sample t test analysis showed that the mean age of PN patients was dramatically enhanced(P<0.05),the mean course of disease was prominently prolonged(P<0.05),HbA1c content was prominently enhanced(P<0.05),and the proportion of hypertension was dramatically enhanced(P<0.05).Compared with non-PN group, serum as-prosin abundance in PN group was prominently elevated(P<0.05),and 25(OH)D3 abundance was markedly declined(P<0.05).Binary logistic regression analysis showed that age, disease course,HbA1c,and asprosin were risk factors for T2DM combined with PN(OR>1,P<0.05),and 25(OH)D3 abundance was a protective factor for T2DM com-bined with PN(0<OR<1,P<0.05).The area under the curve of T2DM cases with PN was 0.758(P<0.05),the sensitivity was 71.43%,and the specificity was 68.09%.Conclusion PN in T2DM cases is associated with high as-prosin and low 25(OH)D3 abundance. The combined detection of serum asprosin and 25(OH)D3 provide a new idea for early screening and intervention of high-risk patients with PN in clinical T2DM patients.
