Effect of Ginkgo biloba extract combined with calcium dobesilate in treatment patients with non-proliferative diabetic retinopathy
Objective To investigate the clinical efficacy of Ginkgo biloba extract combined with calcium dobesilate in the treatment of non-proliferative diabetic retinopathy(NPDR)and its effects on visual acuity, hemodynamics and vas-cular endothelial function. Methods Clinical data of 178 NPDR patients admitted to our hospital from January 2022 to December 2023 were retrospectively selected, and divided into western medicine group(n=90)and Chinese and west-ern medicine combined group(n=88)according to different clinical treatment plans. The western medicine group was treated with calcium dobesilate, and the Chinese and western medicine combined group was treated with ginkgo biloba extract combined with calcium dobesilate. After 3 months of treatment, the clinical efficacy, visual acuity, intraocular pressure, hemodynamic indexes[peak systolicvelocity(PSV),resistance index(RI),central venous return velocity(CRV),end diastolic velocity(EDV)],vascular endothelial function indicators[vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF),intercellular adhesion molecules 1(ICAM-1),angiopoietin-2(Ang-2)]and adverse reactions were compared between the two groups. Results After 3 months of treatment, the total effective rate of Chinese and western medicine combined group was 97.44%,which was higher than that of the western medicine group(88.89%)(P<0.05).The increase of visual acuity and the decrease of intraocular pressure in the Chinese and western medicine combined group were greater than those in the western medicine group(P<0.05).PSV and EDV in Chinese and west-ern medicine combined group were higher than those in western medicine group, and the CRV,RI,serum VEGF,ICAM-1 and Ang-2 levels were lower than those in Western medicine group(P<0.05).During the treatment peri-od,the total incidence of adverse reactions in the Chinese and western medicine combined group was 14.77%,which was slightly higher than that in the western group(12.22%),bu with no significant difference(P>0.05).Conclusion Ginkgo biloba extract combined with calcium dobesilate in the treatment of NPDR patients can effectively regulate the hemodynamics of NPDR patients, improve vascular endothelial function, reduce intraocular pressure,im-prove visual acuity, and improve clinical efficacy, and has a high drug safety.
