Expression and clinical significance of prostate specific membrane antigen in bladder urothelial carcinoma
Objective To investigate the expression and clinical significance of prostate specific membrane antigen(PSMA)in the bladder urothelial carcinoma(BUC).Methods All the 40 paraffin specimens with pathological diagnosis of BUC and 19 paraffin specimens of normal bladder tissue from Zhengzhou Central Hospital affiliated to Zhengzhou Univer-sity from January 2021 to August 2022 were selected for paraffin sectioning.Immunohistochemical staining was used to de-tect the expression of PSMA in both tissues, and the relationship between PSMA expression and clinical pathological charac-teristics and microvascular density(MVD)of BUC patients was analyzed. Results The high expression rate of PSMA in the BUC patients(62.50%)was higher than that in the normal bladder tissue(31.58%),and the difference was statisti-cally significant(x2=4.940,P=0.026).In the BUC patients, the muscle infiltration rate in the high expression of PSMA group(92.00%)was higher than that in the low expression of PSMA group(60.00%),and the difference was statistically significant(x2=4.167,P=0.041).The MVD of the high expression of PSMA group(6.36±2.49)was also higher than that of the low expression of PSMA group(2.38±1.26),and the difference was statistically significant(t=3.190,P=0.013).Conclusion The expression of PSMA in BUC is abnormally increased, and the high expression of PSMA is close-ly related to muscle infiltration and MVD,which is of great significance in the prognosis evaluation and targeted diagnosis and treatment of BUC patients.
