Expression and significance of sialic acid-binding immunoglobulin-like lectin-15 in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma
Objective To investigate the expression and significance of immune checkpoint sialic acid-binding im-munoglobulin-like lectin-15(Siglec-15)in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma. Methods Immunohistochemical method was used to detect Siglec-15 expression in esophageal cancer tissue and adjacent tissue, and the relationship between Siglec-15 and clinicopathologic characteristics of esophageal squamous cell carcinoma. Results The Siglec-15 protein positive in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma tissues[60.0%(48/80)]was higher than that in normal esophageal tissues adjacent to the cancer[23.75%(19/80);x2=21.595,P<0.001].There were statistical differences between Siglec-15 protein positivity and tumour diameter,T stage,TNM stage,N stage and degree of differentiation under different pathologies of esophageal squamous cell carcinoma(x2=7.500,P=0.006;x2=10.342,P=0.001;x2=22.547,P=0.016;x2=20.508,P<0.001;x2=12.586,P=0.002).Conclusion Siglec-15 is highly expressed in esophageal squamous cell car-cinoma,and is related with disease progression.
