Analysis of the Distribution Characteristics of Traditional Chinese Medicine Constitution in Patients with Cerebral Infarction in Rural Areas of Eastern Henan Province and Its Correlation with BMI,Mood, and Sleep Quality
Objective:To investigate the distribution of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)constitution in patients with cerebral infarction in the rural areas in eastern Henan Province, and analyze the distribution characteristics of TCM constitution in stroke patients of different genders and ages, and analyze the correlation between TCM constitution and BMI,anxiety and depression status, and sleep quality.Method:A questionnaire survey was conducted on 888 patients with cerebral infarction collected in Sui County,Shangqiu City,Henan Province from August to September 2020.General information(gender, age,BMI,etc.),Hamilton Depression Scale(HAMD),Hamilton Anxiety Scale(HAMA),Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Scale(PSQI),and Constitution in Chinese Medicine Questionnaire(CCMQ)information were collected, and the distribution of TCM constitution was analyzed. The correlation between the distribution of TCM constitution and BMI grading, anxiety level, depression level and PSQI score was tested. Results:Qi deficiency constitution was the most common traditional Chinese medicine constitution type among 888 patients with cerebral infarction in rural areas of eastern Henan. There was a statistically significant difference in the constitution distribution of patients with cerebral infarction of different genders in terms of gentleness constitution,Qi stagnation constitution,Qi deficiency constitution,Yin deficiency constitution, and Yang deficiency constitution(P<0.05).There was no statistically significant difference in age distribution among the 9 constitutions(P>0.05).There was a statistically significant difference in the distribution of BMI levels among individuals only with Yang deficiency constitution(P<0.05).The gentleness constitution,Yin deficiency constitution,Yang deficiency constitution,Qi stagnation constitution,Qi deficiency constitution, blood stasis constitution, and special diathesis constitution with the difference between the number of levels of anxiety level was statistically significant(P<0.05).The difference in the distribution of depression levels of gentleness constitution,Qi deficiency constitution,Qi stagnation constitution, blood stasis constitution levels were statistically significant(P<0.05).The difference in PSQI scores of gentleness constitution,Yin deficiency constitution,Yang deficiency constitution,Qi stagnation constitution and Qi deficiency constitution was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion:Qi deficiency constitution was the most common TCM constitution type in patients with cerebral infarction in rural areas of eastern Henan.Multiple biased constitutions were correlated with gender,BMI grading, anxiety and depression levels, and sleep quality in patients with cerebral infarction. Therefore,it is important to pay attention to correcting biased constitutions in patients with cerebral infarction.
