Treatment Progress on Postmenopausal Coronary Heart Disease from Kidney Yin Deficiency
The incidence of coronary heart disease(CHD)in postmenopausal women is significantly increased.In recent years,there has been an increasing amount of research on the treatment of postmenopausal CHD with Chinese medicine's tonifying kidney Yin method.The treatment methods include traditional Chinese medicine monomers,single herbs,traditional Chinese medicine compound formulas,etc.The method can upregulate estrogen levels in postmenopausal women,improve lipid metabolism disorders,inhibit vascular inflammatory reactions,and protect the endothelium and smooth muscle to prevent and treat CHD,without significant adverse reactions.This article reviews the etiology and pathogenesis of postmenopausal CHD,basic research on traditional Chinese medicine treatment,and clinical research,to provide theoretical basis for clinical treatment.
