Perimenopausal syndrome is a series of physical and mental symptoms caused by the decline of ovarian function and estrogen level before and after menopause,with high incidence and long duration.This paper briefly combs the origin of the theory of"Shaoyin as pivot"and the function of pivot to promote qi,water channel and blood vessel.The unfavorable Shaoyin can affect the mutual relief of water,fire and Yin,and can affect the opening and closing of Taiyin and Jueyin,resulting in heart-kidney disharmony,liver and spleen disharmony,mind disturbance,internal stop of water,blood vessels obstruction and other pathological changes,resulting in perimenopausal syndrome.In the treatment of perimenopausal syndrome,the prescription of Treatise on Febrile Diseases mainly starts from regulating Shaoyin cardinal mechanism.If the heart and kidney are not interoperable,Shaoyin cold can be transformed or Shaoyin heat can be transformed.Sini De-coction(四逆汤)is selected as Shaoyin cold melting recipe,and Huanglian Ejiao Decoction(黄连阿胶汤)is selected as Shaoyin heat melting recipe.If the liver and spleen are not regulated,it is necessary to soothe the liver and strengthen the spleen,and the formula should be Sini San(四逆散).If the mind is disturbed,it need to subdue mind and choose Guizhi Gancao Longgu Muli Decoction(桂枝甘草龙骨牡蛎汤).If the water stops flowing,it is necessary to transform qi and promote water flow,according to the imbalance between yin and yang,choose Zhenwu Decoction(真武汤)and Zhuling Decoction(猪苓汤).If the blood vessels are not smooth,it is necessary to clear the blood vessels and choose Taohe Chengqi Decoction(桃核承气汤).
