Discussion on the Biological Basis of"Hidden Pathogens"in the Recurrence Process of Ulcerative Colitis Based on Tissue Resident Memory CD4+T Cells
Starting from the tissue resident memery CD4+cells(CD4+TRM cells),this article reviews their physiological and pathological characteristics and their role in the recurrence of ulcerative colitis(UC),explores the biological basis of"hidden pathogens"in the process of UC recurrence, and provided new strategies for traditional Chinese medicine to prevent UC recurrence.CD4+TRM cells play a core role in the pathogenesis of UC and are involved in the recurrent episodes of intestinal inflammation in UC.Hidden pathogens referes to the hidden pathogenic factors in the body that did not immediately develop after being infected,or the pathogenic factors such as damp heat and blood stasis that are not cured and eradicated with the disease but lurked inside. It is the main cause of recrudescence and persistent UC.The pathogenic characteristics of hidden pathogens are closely related to the immune memory, induction, and triggered at a specific time characteristics of CD4+TRM cells.Therefore,CD4+TRM cells may be one of the biological foundations of UC's"hidden pathogens".
