Curative Effect of Acupuncture Combined with Gexia Zhuyu Decoction(膈下逐瘀汤)on Patients with Primary Dysmenorrhea of Qi-Stagnation and Blood Stasis Type
Objective:To explore the clinical curative effect of acupuncture combined with Gexia Zhuyu Decoction(膈下逐瘀汤)on patients with primary dysmenorrhea of qi-stagnation and blood stasis type.Methods:A total of 60 patients with primary dysmenorrhea with qi-stagnation and blood stasis syndrome were randomly divided into a treatment group and a control group,with 30 cases in each group.The patients in control group were treated with ibuprofen,while the treatment group were treated with acupuncture combined with Gexia Zhuyu Decoction on the basis of the control group.The two groups of patients started treatment 5 days before menstruation and continued treatment for 10 days,for a total of 3 menstrual cycles.The clinical curative effect was compared between the two groups.The scores of TCM symptoms and visual analogue scale(VAS)were evaluated before and after treatment.The levels of serum prostaglandin(PG)E2 and PGF2α were detected before and after treatment,and the occurrence of adverse reactions was evaluated.Results:The curative effect of treatment group was better than that of control group(P＜0.05).After treatment,scores of TCM symptoms and VAS were decreased in both groups(P＜0.05).During the second and third menstrual periods,scores of TCM symptoms and VAS in treatment group were lower than those in control group(P＜0.05).After treatment,level of serum PGE2 was increased,while level of serum PGF2α was decreased in both groups(P＜0.05).After treatment,PGE2 in treatment group was higher than that in control group,while PGF2α was lower than that in control group(P＜0.05).There was no significant difference in the occurrence of adverse reactions between the two groups(P＞0.05).Conclusion:The curative effect of acupuncture combined with Gexia Zhuyu Decoction is significant on patients with primary dysmenorrhea of qi-stagnation and blood stasis type,which can improve arterial blood flow and relieve pain,with good safety.
