Objective:To summarize GONG Yuesheng's prescription and medication rules in the treatment of ulcerative colitis.Methods:574 medical records of Professor GONG Yuesheng's treatment of ulcerative colitis from January 1,2021 to December 31,2022 were collected, and the prescription database was established by extraction of the first prescription. The frequency statistical analysis, association rule analysis, cluster analysis and other methods were used to analyze the medication rule in R software. Results:A total of 384 effective prescriptions were included in the study, involving 135 traditional Chinese medicines. The medicinal properties were mainly cold and warm, and the medicinal flavors were mainly bitter, sweet, and spicy. The meridians were mostly attributed to the spleen, stomach, and liver meridians. The analysis of traditional Chinese medicine association rules resulted in 49 strong association rules, among which the most reliable drug pair was"Lianqiao(Forsythiae Fructus)-Zhizi(Gardeniae Fructus)",and the combination of the three drugs was"Dangshen(Codonopsis Radix),Shanyao(Dioscoreae Rhizoma)-Baizhu(Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma)".The core drugs related to the dampness heat syndrome of the large intestine include Huangbai(Phellodendri Cortex),Baitouweng(Pulsatillae Radix),Huanglian(Coptidis Rhizoma),Mudanpi(Moutan Cortex),Wumei(Mume Fructus),and etc.The hierarchical clustering categorizes 30 high-frequency drugs into 3 categories. Conclusion:GONG Yuesheng focused on the spleen and stomach as the center in the treatment of ulcerative colitis with traditional Chinese medicine,empha-sizing the treatment of the five organs. He used the treatment methods of clearing heat and promoting dampness, warming and tonifying the spleen and stomach, and regulating Qi and blood, reflecting the academic idea of achieving the same principle and method, integrating medicine and syndrome, and seeking the foundation of the disease.
