The concept of"holism of physique and spirit"is a traditional Chinese medicine characteristic life view that originated from the fusion of ancient philosophy and medicine."Physique"and"spirit"are essential elements of human life activities,and"physique"and"spirit"can influence each other,leading to the occurrence of diseases.This article elaborates on the etiology,pathogenesis,and treatment strategies of autism spectrum disorders in children from the perspective of the concept of"holism of physique and spirit".The imbalance of the five viscera and the difference in physique and spirit are important pathogenesis for medical treatment.Therefore,the principle of treating autism spectrum disorders should be based on the harmony of physique and spirit,combined with multiple methods,regulating the physique to calm the spirit,regulating the spirit to regulate the physique,fully utilizing the characteristics of traditional Chinese medicine,harmonizing the body and mind,and treating both physique and spirit,providing new ideas for the treatment of autism spectrum disorders with traditional Chinese medicine.
